Book Sales

The Goodnow Library offers several book sales throughout the year, thanks to the efforts of the Friends of the Goodnow Library. Proceeds from all sales allow the Friends to support wonderful programs and valuable resources for the library!

Annual Book and Bake Sale  •  April

  • Throughout the winter members of the Friends sort through donated books for the Annual Book Sale held every year in April. For those of you who don’t yet know the marvels of this weekend event, the library’s Community Room is full of expertly sorted books for adults and children as well as music CDs, DVDs and audio books.
  • The bake sale tables overflow with homemade cookies, cakes, breads, jellies, brownies, pies and more!
  • Perhaps, you need a new gardening book to inspire you, or a self-help book to improve your relationships. Maybe you want to stock up on paperbacks for summer beach days, learn a new craft, or help your child with SAT prep. You will find everything you’re looking for at the sale.
  • For children our boxes will be filled with picture books, novels for all ages, books on history, science, and hobbies, puzzles, board books for babies and fun DVDs for some parental down time!
  • Adults come in for music, movies, biographies, books on spirituality, history, sports, crafts, animals, art, cooking, gardening and more. We will have the classics and the “easy reads” as well as books on CD for summer road trips and commuting!
