“Read, Renew, Repeat” is the Goodnow Library’s 2024 Summer Reading program! Join us in-person at the library for weekly programs for kids, teens and adults including book clubs, crafts, special performers and more!

This summer, kids from birth through rising 5th graders are invited to “Read, Renew, Repeat!” Together we will learn creative ways to care for our planet and ourselves. Fun programs and activities to get children excited about reading will continue all summer long including Summer Sweets & Science, LEGO Club, craft programs, special performers and more. Our annual Truck Day will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 10-1 PM. Our summer reading program will conclude the evening of August 8 at our special Rolie Polie Guacamole Band & Ice Cream Party!

Teens are invited to come to Goodnow to check out a title or participate in our summer “reused” book program. Take a “mystery” book to keep and participate in weekly challenges. Teens may also log their reading (and listening) on Beanstack, the library’s online reading tracking website. Participate between 6/13-8/15 for the chance to win weekly gift cards – and a grand prize for a few lucky readers! A teen version of Summer Sweets & Science meets every Monday, and we’ll have other craft programs, book groups, and even a showing of Jaws!

Adults and families are invited to kick off summer reading by joining Retro Polatin Duo for a fun evening concert of “Pioneering Women of Rock and Roll” on June 27 at the library! Express Lane Barbershop Quartet will also be performing a concert (barbershop style!) on July 16! Programs catered for adults are lined up for the summer including beading crafts, henna designs, book talk, special presentations, and more. Adults are also encouraged to log their reading on Beanstack for a chance to win weekly gift cards…with the chance to win a grand prize at the end of summer!
