Game on at Goodnow! Games and puzzles, secrets and riddles … this summer we’re taking the Level Up at Your Library theme and going all out.

From reading challenges to library programs, to special events and school summer reading requirements, the info is all here for rising 6th-12th graders!

Up for reading challenges for a chance to win weekly raffle prizes? Grab a book and get cracking. Got a sweet tooth? Summer Sweets meets every Monday, where we’ll learn a little about food magic and make fun, creative treats to take home. Want to play? Join in different games every Tuesday afternoon. Other special programs include martial arts self defense, escape room magic, jewelry making, henna designs, fiber arts, Teen Advisory Board meetings, a summer book club, and a end-of-summer foam fest party. Reading

This summer is all about leveling up your skills through games, puzzles, and challenges. Come to Goodnow to check out a title or participate in our summer “mystery” book program.

To start, grab a free “mystery” book from the Teen Room (while supplies last). These books are for you to keep! Want to browse or choose a different title? Come to the teen area where you’ll find a cart of donated books to take or trade.

Bookmarks, prizes, and raffles! You’ll find weekly bookmarks in the teen area, each with different challenges, from reading a book that’s never been made into a movie to finding a constellation in the night sky. This summer is about the enjoyment of reading! Complete any or all of them, fill out your name, and return the bookmark to the collection box in the teen area (and check out some new material).

This enters you for weekly raffles, with names being drawn to win new games (and candy) each week. Come to the teen department to see our summer raffle game display! Every weekly raffle ticket is automatically entered for a chance to win the end-of-summer grand prize: an Amazon Fire (and probably some candy, it’s fun to snack while reading). Find the teen librarian and show her your bookmark at Goodnow, and you’ll get a prize too.

Going away or reading online? You can still earn prizes! Take bookmarks with you and fill out raffle tickets when you get back. Reading online and not coming in? Email the teen librarian what you’ve read and she’ll enter raffle tickets for you.

The Summer Reading Raffle Program runs from Friday, June 13 to Thursday, August 14.

MCBA titles are in the children’s room, MCTBA are upstairs in teen as stand-alone collections.
