The Massachusetts Library System (MLS) is pleased to offer MLS public library members the opportunity to access over the phone interpretation services through Language Line Solutions.

All of the information and documents you need to get started with the Language Line Solutions over the phone interpretation service are available at https://guides.masslibsystem.org/language_line. This is a password protected LibGuide. The password is: languageline (this password is case sensitive and contains no spaces).

There are two ways to use Language Line Solutions’s over the phone interpretation services:

  1. In-Person: When a patron is in the library, use the library’s phone to call Language Line Solutions.  Once the interpreter is on the phone, pass the phone back and forth with the patron so the interpreter can interpret what you and the patron are saying.
  2. Over the Phone: When you are talking with a patron over the phone, use the library’s three-way calling feature to call Language Line Solutions.  You, your patron, and the interpreter will be on the call at the same time.
