Teen Volunteers

The teen department is not currently accepting applications for teen volunteers. We will open our volunteer application process for the winter/spring in late December.

Adult Volunteers

We accept applications for adult volunteers to share their talents, skills and knowledge assisting library staff with a variety of services. We request a commitment of six months, at three hours per week. Please fill out our Volunteer Application Form. If you prefer a paper form, please ask at the Circulation or Reference Desks. Once applications are received and reviewed, volunteers will be contacted if there is an opening that matches their skills.

Sara Sherman NOW Lab Volunteers

We’re looking for volunteers to help out with craft prep, staffing, teaching, and general creativeness! You don’t need to know how to work any of the equipment, but we’re happy to teach you if you’re interested.

Book Sales

The Goodnow Book Nook is a gently used book store operated by the Goodnow Library Foundation. We are looking for volunteers to help with our big book sales and also with sorting and curating books. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Setup, cleanup, and working in-person sales
    • Fall Book Sale (mid-October)
    • Spring Book Sale (April-May)
  • Sorting and curating donations
    • We are always receiving donations and need help organizing them.
    • Determine what will be sold online, on the in-library shelf, or at the big book sales.
    • Think creatively about special donations, like antique books or special editions.
