The Goodnow Library offers several choices of book clubs for all ages and interests. If you are interested in starting a new book club, please let us know!
The “Bookies:” A group that easily goes undercover while reading books you can really bet on. Read ’em and weep, or laugh… have fun, get smart! Feel free to ask for a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk. We hope you will attend and enjoy a lively, informal discussion!
The Bookies typically meet every other month on a Tuesday. Please check our online calendar for dates and details. Start time is 7:00 PM. Please contact Randy LeSage at [email protected] for more information.
Books in Bloom
Do you love to read? Do you enjoy arranging fresh flowers or silk flowers? Would you like to combine your two interests and share them with a group?
Books will be ordered by Maureen Hines, Group Leader, and will be available at the Goodnow Library. Just bring yourself, your creativity, and a sense of fun to the meeting. We will share a love of books and a love or arranging flowers–No expertise is needed. This program is free and sponsored by the Goodnow Library.
Books in Bloom is currently at capacity. To be placed on the waiting list, or for other inquiries, please contact Maureen Hines.
Book Groups for Kids
The Children’s department offers two monthly book groups for our elementary age patrons: one for 2nd and 3rd graders, and one for 4th and 5th graders. The kids get to help pick the book selections and then meet to discuss over snacks one evening each month. Each group will play a game, or complete a fun activity related to the book, and we’ve even been fortunate enough to have local authors visit the groups! Registration is required for each session through our online calendar and the books can be picked up at the children’s desk.
